Ras El Hekma is Modon's flagship city on Egypt's Mediterranean coast. Here's the master plan in numbers, the main city projects, and the firms building it.

Who is behind it

Ras El Hekma was launched through a US$35 billion agreement between the Egyptian government and ADQ, Abu Dhabi's sovereign investor, signed in February 2024. Modon describes it as the largest international investment in Egypt's history.

Modon Holding, headquartered in Abu Dhabi and listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, is the master developer.

Built to last

Ras El Hekma is designed to LEED Gold standards. Orientation, shading and materials keep buildings cooler in summer and warmer in winter, and shaded walkways, parks and cycle routes connect the neighbourhoods.

Wadi Yemm is low density, with a floor area ratio of 0.29 and 45% open space. It has 4.5 km of coastline, two 18-hole championship golf courses, natural lagoons and 13 residential communities.
